The 2024 Olympics will bring economic benefits to Paris of between 6.7 and 11 billion euros. This is reported by the website of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The city’s revenue report was published by the Center for Law and Economics of Sport (CDES) at the University of Limoges, a research institute in France specializing in the economic and legal aspects of sport. During the Games, between 2.3 and 3.1 million tourists are expected to visit Paris for the competition, about 64 percent of them French. According to the Paris Tourism Authority, tourists who will come to the capital during the Games will spend a total of about 2.6 billion euros.
Government funding for the 2024 Olympics amounts to three billion euros and mainly covers projects aimed at meeting the long-term needs of local communities. It is estimated that for every euro of government spending there are three euros of economic profit.
