Inter Milan director confirms interest in Bento, from Athletico-PR

Going through a great phase at Athletico-PR, goalkeeper Bento’s name has been speculated at Inter Milan, in Italy, in recent times. Now, Dario Baccin, sporting director of the Italian club, confirmed the team’s interest in the Brazilian.

“Bento? We are happy with the goalkeepers in the squad, but, thinking about the future, he is one of those we are evaluating. He is gaining a lot of value with being called up to the Brazilian National Team”, he revealed in an interview with Sky Sports.

“Even though it’s still too early to talk in depth about him, he’s one of the two or three young promises that we’re following closely,” he added.

Bento was called up to the Brazilian team last Friday and will be one of the country’s representatives in the Copa América, which will be played between June and July. The goalkeeper had already been called up to defend Brazil on other occasions, but only got the opportunity to be a starter in the last FIFA Date.

With the injuries to Alisson and Ederson, the Athletico-PR archer was chosen by Dorival Júnior to defend the Brazilian team’s goal in the friendlies against Spain and England, in March. Against the English, Bento did not concede a goal, but against the Spanish he conceded three, two of which were penalties.

In a statement after the game against Palmeiras, last Sunday, Bento left his future open, but revealed that he was focused on Furacão.

“I’m focused here at Athletico. There’s still nothing certain about whether I’m leaving or not. I’m just focused on doing my best here for Athletico and achieving everything I have,” he said.

At 24 years old, Bento graduated from Athletico-PR’s own youth categories and has a contract with Furacão until December 31, 2026.
