#1 UFC bantamweight Dvalishvili had an accident in New York
The number one ranking of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in the bantamweight division, Merab Dvalishvili, had an accident in the USA. The fighter announced this on his Instagram profile (the social network is prohibited in the Russian Federation; belongs to the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in Russia and is banned).
“I came to New York for one day and almost immediately got into an accident in a taxi, which was hit by several other cars. I was in the passenger seat, I hurt myself, but I’m okay, thank God,” Dvalishvili said.
Earlier, Dvalishvili’s wallet was stolen from a car in Las Vegas. Georgian reported that the criminals took his wallet from his car, which was unlocked at night. “Then they came back to try to steal the car, but my neighbor shouted at them and they ran away,” he added.
Dvalishvili had 20 fights in mixed martial arts (MMA) and won 16 victories. In his penultimate fight in the UFC in March 2023, he defeated former Russian champion Petr Yan by decision.
