Anvar Gatiyatulin was appointed the new head coach of Ak Bars
Anvar Gatiyatulin became the new head coach of Ak Bars. The appointment was announced on the Kazan club website.
The agreement with the specialist and his coaching staff is valid for two seasons. “We as a whole staff feel the responsibility and are ready for it. For me personally, moving to Tatarstan also means a lot; mentally I feel very comfortable here,” Gatiyatulin commented on the appointment.
Previously, Gatiyatulin worked in the Chelyabinsk Traktor system. He was also an assistant coach in the Russian national team and SKA St. Petersburg.
On March 22, the head of Ak Bars, Zinetula Bilyaletdinov, resigned. “For me, being a head coach is enough,” he explained. In the 2023/2024 season, the Kazan team was eliminated in the first round of the Gagarin Cup playoffs, losing the series to the Ekaterinburg Avtomobilist with a score of 1-4.
