This Tuesday, Borussia Dortmund announced that it had agreed to sign 16-year-old Ecuadorian Justin Lerma, who is currently at Independiente Del Valle. The midfielder will only reinforce the German club in 2026, when he will turn 18.
“We have been following Justin for a long time and have been in close contact with the player and his family ever since. Justin is one of the best South American players of his year and we are pleased to be able to recruit an exceptional talent in him for Borussia Dortmund,” said Borussia sporting director Sebastian Kehl.
Until he turns 18, Lerma will continue to develop at Del Valle. The midfielder debuted as a starter just this weekend, in the 2-1 victory against El Nacional, in the first division of Ecuador.
Independiente Del Valle is in Palmeiras’ group in the Copa Libertadores. The Ecuadorians are in second place, with four points from four games.
This Wednesday, Lerma’s club visits Verdão, for the fifth round of the group stage. The ball rolls onto the Allianz Parque lawn from 9:30 pm (Brasília time).
