The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, said this Saturday (11), one day after striker Kylian Mbappé publicly made his departure from Paris Saint-Germain official, that he “counts on Real Madrid”, the player’s likely destination, to release his participation in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
“I’m counting on Real Madrid to release Kylian for the Olympic Games, so that he can come and play with the France team,” Macron said in a video in which he answered questions from internet users, published on the social network X.
Last month, the French president had already stated that he “hopes” that the ‘Bleus’ captain would be able to participate in the Games (26 July – 11 August), despite Real Madrid having announced that it will not release its players for the event .
