Bayern Munich announced this Friday that striker Serge Gnabry suffered a muscle injury to his left thigh during the 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final. Because of this, the player is out of the rest of the season for the Bavarian team and is expected to miss Germany in the European Championship.

With pain in his left thigh, the 22-year-old athlete had to be substituted in the 27th minute of the first half in the game that ended in Bayern’s elimination from the Champions League.
According to the newspaper BILD, Gnabry will be sidelined for around six weeks. Therefore, the striker would not be available for the group stage of the European Championship, which begins on June 14th. Because of this, the tendency is for the player to be left out of Julian Nagelsmann’s squad list.
This season, Serge suffered several injuries and managed to play just 20 matches, scoring five goals and providing two assists.
The European Championship will be held between June 14th and July 14th, in Germany. The host country will make its debut on the first day of the tournament, against Scotland, at the Allianz Arena.
