With the new agreement, Cubarsí’s termination fine was set at 500 million euros, around 2.7 billion reais. The contract period was extended until June 30, 2027.
Cubarsí joined Barcelona’s professional team this season. The young defender made his debut on January 18th, against Unionistas, in the Copa del Rey of Spain. Since then, he has played 20 games for Barça’s main squad, starting as a starter on 17 occasions.
With his success at Barcelona, Cubarsí was called up by the Spanish national team for the friendlies against Brazil and Colombia, played in March. Upon entering the field, the 17-year-old player became the youngest defender to play for Spain.
