WBO obliged boxer Artur Beterbiev to provide evidence of injury
The World Boxing Organization (WBO) ordered Artur Beterbiev to provide evidence of injury. Boxing Scene reports.
The WBO said the athlete must provide detailed medical evidence of the injury, test results, prognosis for recovery and a doctor’s opinion as to when he will be cleared for active competition. Otherwise, Beterbiev will be deprived of all rights enshrined in the agreement.
Beterbiev was originally scheduled to fight Russian Dmitry Bivol, but Beterbiev suffered a torn meniscus and will undergo knee surgery. Their fight with Bivol is now scheduled to take place at the end of 2024.
On May 4, Beterbiev said that doctors insisted on postponing the fight. The boxer emphasized that the fight with Bivol will definitely take place later.
