Amid rumors about Manchester United, Tuchel does not hide his admiration for the English Championship

Thomas Tuchel should not continue as coach of Bayern Munich for next season. The German, amid rumors of a move to Manchester United, said in an interview that it is very unlikely that he will continue to lead the Bavarians and that it is no secret that he really likes England, having been Chelsea’s coach between 2021 and 2022.

“Next season? It’s very, very, very unlikely that it will be at Bayern. There is an agreement and there is no reason to doubt it, we took that position, the initiative came from the club and I’m fine with that” said Tuchel to TNT Sports.

With the instability of Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United becoming increasingly visible, rumors have already begun about his departure at the end of the season, with Tuchel being one of the main candidates for replacement. The team remains in eighth place in the Premier League after 35 games played and Ten Hag does not appear to have a good relationship with his squad.

Asked about the possibility of a move to England, Tuchel did not hide his love for the time he spent managing Chelsea: “I prefer not to answer… But it’s no secret that I loved being at Chelsea, I loved England and I loved the Premier League, for sure. It was a very, very special moment in England.”

With Tuchel, the situation has been no different than with Ten Hag. In his first season coaching Bayern, he did not win any national titles and was unable to get the best out of the million-dollar squad made available to him, despite managing to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League.

In the event of Erik Ten Hag’s eventual departure from Manchester United, the club would already have a list of candidates for the position for next season. According to the English media, in addition to Tuchel, the team would be keeping an eye on the England national team coach, Gareth Southgate, and the Portuguese Rúben Amorim, from Sporting.
