He Wednesday May 8 The fifth stage of this edition of the Giro d’Italia is held, a day of 176 kilometers tour departing in Genoa and arriving in Lucca.
The peloton will ride along the Via Aurelia, along the coast, and will enter Tuscany. At the arrival of the stage in Lucca, the sprinters could challenge for victory again if their teams control the race until the category 4 climb of Montemagno, which is crowned just 20 kilometers from the finish line.
It is not a demanding route. They went up two ports; the first, Passo del Bracco, in the third category, 114 kilometers from the finish line, and the second, Montemagno, in the fourth category, just 20 kilometers from the finish line.
The last kilometers are a slight descent from the top of Montamagno along a fairly comfortable route to the final stretch of 350 meters which will take them to the goal of Lucca.
