West Ham confirms departure of manager David Moyes at the end of the season

West Ham announced this Monday through its social networks that it will not renew coach David Moyes for the next European season. The contract with the London club ends on June 30th.

David Moyes started the season with West Ham in fine form. Conference League champion under the command of the Scot, the club had made the biggest sale in its history (Declan Rice to Arsenal), reinvesting the money in several signings.

However, West Ham’s season ended up falling apart after the injury to Brazilian Lucas Paquetá, the team’s main player. Eliminated in the semi-finals of the Europa League, the team occupies ninth place in the English Championship, with two rounds to go.

Responsible for West Ham’s only title of the century, David Moyes says goodbye after four seasons. Spaniard Julen Lopetegui, who spent time at Real Madrid, is one of those being considered for the position.
