Route, profile and schedule of stage 4 of the 2024 Giro d’Italia: Acqui Terme–Andora (187 km)
He Tuesday May 7 disputes the fourth stage of the Giro d’Italia, a day that starts from the spa city of Acqui Terme to reach Andora after covering a total of 187 kilometers, with only one mountainous difficulty, the Colle Melogno, in the third category, but more than 100 kilometers from the finish .
The platoon will depart at 12:35 p.m. and arrival is scheduled between 5:00 p.m. (the fastest) and 5:28 p.m. (the slowest).
The stage is classified as flat, but in its first kilometers it is a false plain which entails some difficulty. The peloton will cross the Val Bormida and the Apennines to reach the sea. They will climb up to 1,000 meters in the aforementioned Melogno to descend to Savona via the Cadibona hill. From there the route is completely flat until the finish line of Andora.
As a curiosity, the long final descent follows the same route as the famous Milano-Sanremo to the finish line.
It should be noted that it is the last three kilometers the road is somewhat winding, with a series of semi-curves to the city of Andora. The last 800 meters are practically straight, with a final stretch of 650 meters on asphalt and a width of 8, ideal for sprinting.
