Basque golfer Adrián Otaegui is proclaimed champion of the China Open

The Basque golfer Adrián Otaegui has claimed the final victory in the Volvo China Opentournament corresponding to the circuit DP World Tour and played at the Hidden Grace field in Shenzhen, with a total of 198 hits (-18) and after finishing his last round with seven shots under par.

Otaegui was the second best only behind the South African Brandon Stone (-8) in the third of the turnsthe final one after a complete one had to be canceled as a result of the adverse weather conditions that affected the normal development of the competition.

From less to more throughout the tournament, his 65 hits on the way to closing after making 67 in his first game and 66 in the second they were the result of seven birdiestwo of them on holes 16 and 17.

His good numbers ended up putting pressure on the Swiss Joel Girrbach, starting partner; and to Italian Guido MigliozziSwedish Sebastian Soderberg and English Paul Waring.

Migliozziwho finally finished second with 199 impactswas the victim of a bogey on 17. The remaining three tied with 200 strokes in third place after Waring and Girrbach made bogeys on 16 and Söderberg a double bogey on 18.

This is the first circuit tournament that Otaegui wins this course and the fifth of his career in the same after the Saltire Energy Paul Lawrie Match Play from Germany in 2017; he Belgian Knockout from 2018; he Scottish Championship presented by AXA from 2020; and the Estrella Damm NA Andalucía Masters of 2022.
