Molenbeek forward Rehn-Adeled lost consciousness in a Belgian championship match
Belgian club Molenbeek striker Geoff Ren-Adeled lost consciousness during the match after being hit in the head by the ball. Le Parisien reports this.
The 26-year-old Frenchman received a strong blow to the face from the ball and lost consciousness for 10 minutes, after which he was urgently hospitalized. Ren-Adeled later posted a message on social media: “Thank you everyone for the words of support. There was more fear than harm.” The player’s diagnosis is currently unknown.
Geoff Ren-Adeled played in French youth teams of various ages. He became the European Under-17 Champion in 2015.
Earlier, Egypt national team player Ahmet Refaat suffered cardiac arrest during a match. The forward was urgently hospitalized. “His heart stopped for more than an hour,” the Future club, for which the footballer plays, said in a statement.
