The day begins at 1:05 p.m., and the forecast is for it to conclude between 4:59 p.m. and 5:27 p.m.

As specified by the organization of the Giro, this second stage of the test is flat in its initial section, but presents a route full of ups and downs in its second part, from the special Valdengo sprint, which is located at kilometer 93 .9, midday.

Oasi Zegna, at kilometer 122.7, and Nelva, at 137.4, are two 3rd class climbs that are ascended in that final stretch. Once the descent of the second one, from Nelva, has been completed, upon reaching Biella, the climb to Oropa; involves an effort of 11.8 kilometerswith a average slope of 6.2%, although it reaches, in some sections, up to 13%. A true level test for riders who have arrived in Italy with the intention of obtaining a good position in the general classification.
