This Friday, the Conmebol Arbitration Commission defined the referees who will referee the matches in the fourth round of the Copa Sudamericana. Among the 32 teams, there are seven Brazilians (Corinthians, Fortaleza, Athletico-PR, Cuiabá, Internacional, Bragantino and Cruzeiro).
Starting with Timão, the team, which will face Nacional-PAR next Tuesday, at 7pm (Brasília time), away from home, will have its match refereed by Venezuelan Ángel Arteaga. VAR will be commanded by Ecuadorian Carlos Orbe.
On Bragantino’s side, the São Paulo club will have Peruvian Kevin Ortega refereeing the game, while Augusto Menéndez, of the same nationality, will be in the VAR. The match will be against Racing-ARG, next Thursday, at 9pm (Brasília time), at the Nabi Abi Chedid Stadium.
In the southern region of the country, there are Athletico-PR and Internacional. For Furacão’s part, next Wednesday’s duel, at 7pm (Brasília time), against Deportivo Rayo Zuliano-VEN, will be led by the Ecuadorian Bryan Loayza, while the Argentine Jorge Balino will be responsible for the VAR. Colorado, which visits Real Tomayapo-BOL on Tuesday, at 9pm (Brasília time), will have its match refereed by Uruguayan Mathias de Armas, and Joel Alarcón, from Peru, in the VAR.
Cabuloso, in turn, faces Alianza-COL, away from home, also on Tuesday. The match, which takes place at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), will have the Argentine duo Andrés Melos (game referee) and Andrés Melos (VAR referee) commanding the game.
Finally, Fortaleza’s duel on Wednesday, against Real Potosí-BOL, at 9pm (Brasília time), at the Víctor Agustín Ugarte Stadium, will be refereed by Álex Cajas-EQU and Juan Andrade-EQU, while Paraguayan Derlis López (main referee) and Uruguayan Antonio García (VAR referee), will lead the clash between Cuiabá and Metropolitanos-VEN, which will be held on Wednesday, at 9pm (Brasília time), at Arena Pantanal.
The only two clashes refereed by Brazilians will be César Valleno-PAR and Independiente Medellín and Always Ready-BOL and Defensa y Justicia. The first will be led by Paulo Zanovelli (main referee) and Rodolpho Toski (VAR referee), while the second will feature Rafael Klein and Daniel Nobre.
