Chimrova said that the Russians were warmly received at the tournament in Bosnia and Herzegovina
World Swimming Championship medalist Svetlana Chimrova spoke about the attitude towards Russians at the international tournament in Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina). Her words are quoted by Match TV.
According to her, the team was received very warmly and good-naturedly. “Like your relatives practically. This is very unusual for us and very, very pleasant,” said the swimmer.
Chimrova also said that Russian swimmers were taken to a reception with the President of Republika Srpska, part of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik. “It was very exciting and very emotional. The President made a very serious speech, and to be honest, I even cried because the attitude towards us was so good,” said the Russian woman.
Earlier, the head of the All-Russian Swimming Federation (RSF) Vladimir Salnikov named the number of domestic athletes who fulfilled the Olympic standard at the competitions in Banja Luka. According to the president of the federation, seven swimmers showed the required time, but no one plans to participate in the 2024 Games.
