Coach Xavi held a press conference this Friday and spoke about the future of Robert Lewandowski and Vitor Roque at Barcelona. The attackers live in different situations within the team, but the continuity of both is not guaranteed for next season.
“We greatly value Robert’s presence in the team and we will decide on his future when the season ends,” said the coach about Lewandowski.
At 35 years old, the Pole has been decreasing the number of goals scored year after year, but he is still a starter and an important part of the Catalan club. In the current season, he played 44 games, scored 23 goals and provided nine assists. In his first year at Barça, he found the net 33 times in 46 matches.
While Vitor Roque arrived at Barcelona in January 2024, but played little. The Brazilian participated in 13 games, only two as a starter, and scored two goals. Xavi also commented on the 19-year-old’s streak.
“What I can say is that he will be available tomorrow. Regarding the future, there are five games left. We will talk at the end of the season.”
