Nine Russian rowers will compete at the European qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games 2024
The International Canoe Federation (ICF) announced on its website the number of Russian rowers admitted to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games.
Nine Russian kayakers and canoeists will compete at the European qualifying tournament. These are Alexey Korovashkov, Mikhail Pavlov, Zakhar Petrov, Olesya Romasenko, Ivan Shtyl, Svetlana Chernigovskaya, Anastasia Dolgova, Vitaly Ershov, Maxim Spesivtsev. The competition will take place on May 8 and 9 in Szeged, Hungary.
In April 2023, the ICF allowed Russian athletes to participate in tournaments in a neutral status. The organization said the decision was made after consultations with the international community.
The Olympic Games in Paris will take place from July 26 to August 11. Russians and Belarusians, if a number of conditions are met, will be able to compete in the individual competitions of the tournament in a neutral status.
