Once a synonym of luxury, today a standard at communion. “What will happen in 5 years?”

Matylda’s mother already had to organize her child’s First Communion party, although it will take place only next year. Her reception seems miserable compared to the one her classmates will have. The cake and the photographer are acceptable, but the list of attractions that other mothers book seems to be a drama. “What will it be like in 5 years, a helicopter?”

“I am outraged. Apart from the fact that in the past, receiving the First Holy Communion had a completely different dimension. Now there is a race – who will be the first to book the room. Some people have been doing it for over two years before their children’s First Communion, which is strange to me. It’s a shame to celebrate communion at home“- writes the mother of 8-year-old Matylda, who will receive her first Holy Communion next year.

The organization of First Communion for some parents begins two years earlier

The woman is devastated. The organization of a child’s First Communion takes place two years before this event. Matylda is now in the second grade of primary school, but most of the children have already booked rooms for their own parties. They live near Warsaw. Considering the number of schools and children receiving their First Holy Communion, there seem to be few places. Everyone wants to be aware that they have already booked their chosen place. “I succumbed to this trend of booking because I won’t leave it to the last minute. I don’t have enough space at home for my entire immediate family. Although my party of 34 people seems paltry, compared to the parties of my daughter’s classmates – 70 people is the minimum, the record holder claims that her initial list includes 124 invited people.

A First Communion party is not only dinner and time with family, it is a lot of attractions so that the children will not be bored

Matylda’s mother cannot understand this “crib” of organizing communion. He observes what is happening currently and also talks to parents from his child’s class. It turns out that “the standard is a large and wonderful cake – necessarily with a motif and breathtaking decorations, there must be a photographer at the reception – because photos taken by the family are not enough.” A woman can succumb to these two things and even understands them a little. But the list of attractions offered by restaurants is a bit of a curiosity – piƱata, archery, quad rides, and the best one at the end – an inflatable for children, Do you people really need this to be happy at First Communion parties?” – she asks at the end of her letter and wonders whether she simply doesn’t understand the changing fashion or whether people are really starting to go crazy.

In the past, no matter how many children there were in the family, no one complained about boredom. They kept themselves busy throughout the day. Today, children need to be provided with attractions for every minute of the party so that they do not feel bored. It’s absurd. Today, inflatables and quads, and what will it be like in 5 years, a helicopter?
