With the season below Manchester United, a possible group of players to reshape the squad has been speculated by the English press. Coach Erik ten Hag, however, mocked the rumors this Thursday.
“It’s a joke! Since I worked here, every summer, 200 players attracted the interest of Manchester United, which is not true. We did some research,” he said.
“Every summer, we sell all the players on our team. Which is not true. Be calm and take responsibility when you receive such a headline. It’s completely idiotic,” he added.
The Dutchman, on the other hand, recognized the English team’s current situation and said that improvements needed to be made, but said he had a good base in the squad.
“I’m now in my fifth window, two windows were good, two windows we lost. We have to make further improvements in the summer. There is a base in this squad that is very good. Injuries have had a big impact on our season”, he concluded.

Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro and Anthony are examples of players with speculated departures. Only the young Garnacho, Hojlund and Mainoo are considered untouchable and should remain at the club.
Eliminated in the group stage of the Champions League and far from the fight for the Premier League title, Manchester United has the FA Cup as an attempt to save the season. The opponent in the final will be City on the 25th, at 11am (Brasília time), at Wembley.
Before that, Erik ten Hag’s men face Crystal Palace in the 36th round of the English Championship, at 4pm next Monday, at Selhurst Park. With 54 points, United are in sixth place.
