Vyalbe refused to consider Efimova, who is thinking about participating in the 2024 Olympic Games, as a Russian
The head of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR), Elena Vyalbe, spoke about the country’s representatives who are thinking about participating in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Her words are quoted by RT.
The functionary refused to consider swimmer Yulia Efimova as a Russian, who allowed the opportunity to compete in competitions. “She is an American to us. I don’t want to judge her in any way, this is her life, she chose this path herself, achieved her certain results,” Vyalbe noted.
According to the head of the FLGR, the overwhelming majority of Russian residents will have a negative attitude towards the country’s representatives who will perform in Paris. “I communicate with people, simple ones at that,” she emphasized.
Efimova spoke about possible participation in the Olympics on April 19. “Each person has his own choice. It’s not closed for me, because I haven’t swam according to the Olympic standard yet,” she said.
