Liverpool announce new kit for next season

Liverpool and Nike have announced the Reds’ first kit for the 2024/25 season. In the launch made on social media this Wednesday, the English club used players like Van Dijk, Salah and Mac Allister as models.

The uniform alludes to Liverpool’s 1984 season. That year, the English won the triple crown, winning the English Championship, the English League Cup and the European Champions League. Next season, the Reds will return to compete in the Champions League after missing out this year.

The kit’s retro design features a chrome yellow pattern of the club’s “You Never Walk Alone” motto embossed into the fabric of the shirt. The uniform has a collar with traditional details in yellow and red, just like the one worn by the 1984 team led by Joe Fagan. Both the shirt and shorts have yellow and white sides.

Dutch defender Virgil Van Dijk spoke about the launch of Liverpool’s new kit to the club’s official website.

“I’m a big fan of our new kit for next season and I love that we’re bringing back the retro design. We are a club built on history and the 1984 team was one of the most successful in history. I’m sure our fans will appreciate the tribute to these club legends.”, added the defender.

Liverpool fans can pre-order the new kit on the club’s official website. Prices vary depending on the kit version. In the fan model, the price is 80 euros, around 439 reais. In the player version, the shirt that athletes wear on the field, the value is 125 euros, approximately 687 reais.
