AT5: the hearing on the appeal of Spartak player Promes was scheduled for September 20
The date of the hearing in the case of Spartak football player Quincy Promes has been announced. Details of the trial became known to AT5.
The first hearing on the player’s appeal against the Dutch court’s verdict is scheduled for September 20, 2024. The Dutch prosecutor’s office expressed the hope that Promes will personally attend the hearing.
On February 29, Promes was detained at border control at Dubai airport for being involved in an accident and leaving the scene. Two weeks later, the football player was arrested at the request of the Dutch prosecutor’s office for possible further extradition. The accident case was closed on May 1.
On February 14, an Amsterdam court sentenced Promes in absentia to six years in prison. In the summer of 2023, he received 18 months in prison in his homeland for attacking his brother with a knife.
