French authorities rejected applications from more than 20 Russian volunteers for the Olympic Games 2024
Applications for accreditation for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris from more than 20 Russian volunteers were rejected by the French authorities. One of the contenders reported this to TASS.
She noted that she received a written refusal from the Games organizing committee. “The organizing committee wrote to me that it does not know the reasons why the French authorities rejected my application,” the volunteer complained. The applicant added that she contacted her fellow compatriots, the number of whom exceeds 20 people. They all also received a refusal.
In March, the director of the Paris 2024 volunteer program, Alexandre Morenon-Conde, answered a question about possible restrictions for volunteers from Russia and Belarus. The functionary stated that they were missing.
In December 2023, the International Olympic Committee allowed Russians and Belarusians to participate in the Games in Paris. Athletes will be able to take part in the tournament as individual neutral athletes. At the same time, athletes who support a special operation in Ukraine, as well as those who have connections with the armed forces or security agencies of Russia and Belarus, will not be allowed to participate in the competition. In addition, representatives of team sports will miss the tournament.
