American boxer Ortiz called the fight against Tim Tszyu World War III
American boxer Virgil Ortiz, in an interview with the YouTube channel Sean Zittel, shared his expectations for the title fight against the Australian with Russian roots, Tim Tszyu.
“I already know how my fight against Tim will go. It will be the Third World War, but it will be “on technology,” the athlete said. He stressed that this will be a difficult battle, the outcome of which is difficult to predict.
On the night of March 31, Tim Tszyu, the son of former absolute world boxing champion Kostya Tszyu, suffered the first defeat in his career. He lost to American Sebastian Fundora. The fight went all 12 rounds. The winner was determined by a split decision of the judges. Tszyu Jr. was unable to defend his World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior middleweight title for the second time and missed out on the opportunity to win the World Boxing Council (WBC) title.
Ortiz and Tszyu will fight for the interim WBA junior middleweight title on August 4. Fight in Los Angeles (USA).
