This Monday, Simon Kjaer’s agent, Mikkel Beck, confirmed the defender’s departure from Milan at the end of the season. The Danish athlete has a contract until the middle of this year and will not renew with the Italian club.
“Simon will leave the Rossoneri. There is no controversy, both parties share the choice”, he said in an interview with Bold.dk.
Despite this, the agent stated that the defender feels fulfilled having played for Milan.
“It’s a natural farewell to a club where Simon loved playing for more than four years, it comes at the right time. Many years ago he told me that one day he wanted to play for Milan and in the end he managed to make that dream come true.”
Kjaer was hired by the Rossoneri team in January 2020 and played 120 games there. He also won the Italian Championship in 2022 and reached the Champions League semi-finals last year.
At 35 years old, the athlete still has no defined future. Mikkel Beck states that he is focused on the final stretch of the season with Milan and on competing in the European Cup with Denmark.
“Some clubs asked for information, it’s true, but he was always focused on Milan. That gave him a lot of excellent games at Christmas. Now, he’s injured, but he’ll be ready for the end of the season and especially for the European Championship”, he reported.
