The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) has removed five elements named after Russians from the rules for the period from 2025 to 2028. Match TV reports this with reference to the organization’s press service.

We are talking about two equilibria of Zarina Gizikova and one of Olga Kapranova, as well as rotations of Gizikova and Daria Trubnikova. All athletes represent rhythmic gymnastics. The remaining elements, named after Russian women, remained in the rules.

Earlier, the head of the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation, Irina Viner, revealed the reaction of her athletes to Russia’s admission to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris in a neutral status. The coach said that the Russians immediately refused to participate in the competition.

On July 19 last year, FIG announced the admission of Russians to international competitions in a neutral status from January 1, 2024. To compete in tournaments, athletes must submit an individual application and receive approval from the FIG.
