Vice-president do Barcelona, Rafa Yuste confirmed that Xavi will remain in technical command of the team. According to the Spanish newspaper Brandafter a meeting at the home of Joan Laporta, president of the Catalan club, the director explained that the coach trusts the team’s project.
“Xavi is very enthusiastic about the project. It’s because of his enthusiasm, because he’s a Culé (Barcelona fan) and because he likes us. I’m always willing to defend the models and believe that this coach will bring us results,” said Yuste .
Barcelona was eliminated from the Champions League, the Copa del Rey and has a remote chance of winning the Spanish Championship. Yuste confirmed that Deco, the club’s sporting director, is closed with Xavi, regardless of the bad season.

“Deco is one hundred percent with the coach and the bad season is an issue that depends on how we look at it. We didn’t win any titles, but I’m under the illusion that we woke up,” he commented.
In January, Xavi had announced that he would step down as Barcelona coach at the end of the season. However, the coach changed his mind after the team’s good run of the season.
“He showed us his total commitment to the club. I have the feeling that the team has woken up. We want to make history again and we will do it. Xavi is an extremely honest man, a home-made person, and these are not empty words , he is demonstrating this. I am convinced that he will do a great job. He is a great person, a great Culé and has a well-prepared mind,” he said.
