Boca Juniors will have an important absence for the clash against Fortaleza, scheduled for this Thursday, at 9pm (Brasília time), at Arena Castelão, for the Copa Sudamericana. The big absence on the Argentines’ list of players for the match was Uruguayan Edinson Cavani.
In Boca Juniors’ last game, a classic against River Plate, Cavani left the field around 25 minutes into the second half citing physical issues. He even scored one of the goals in his team’s 3-2 victory.
According to the Argentine newspaper Ole, Cavani is physically overloaded. At Boca Juniors training last Tuesday, the Uruguayan would have done some work in the gym and then a kinesiology activity.

Despite being an important game against Fortaleza, coach Diego Martínez wants to have Cavani 100% for the duel against Estudiantes, in the semifinals of the Argentine League Cup, next Tuesday.
Therefore, the Argentines’ attacking duo against Leão could be an old acquaintance of Palmeiras fans: Merentiel, ex-Verdão, and Benedetto, executioner in the 2018 Libertadores.
