Juventus recognizes problems, but is excited about a place in the Italian Cup final

Two years later, Juventus will return to compete in the Italian Cup final despite having lost 2 to 1 for Lazio, this Tuesday (23) in Rome, making good on the 2-0 victory in the first leg in a fierce clash in which the hosts tied on aggregate with a double from Argentine Taty Castellanos.

The former Girona striker’s goals, the first in the 12th minute, with a header, and the second at the beginning of the second half (49′) with a cross shot, gave the impression that the game would go into extra time.

But Juventus coach, Massimiliano Allegri, put Polish Arkadiusz Milik on the field, who scored the qualifying goal with the first ball he touched, in the final stretch (83′). The center forward positioned himself in the small area and deflected a cross shot from midfielder Timothy Weah, who had also entered the second half, into the back of the net.

“We suffered a lot against a good team like Lazio, but we are happy to be able to play in this final. We know we have to play better in the final, we know we can play better,” Milik said after the match.

Coach Allegri also celebrated the result: “We are not in an easy moment, but we keep fighting, we don’t give up. The great satisfaction is having reached this final, this will give us energy for the end of the championship, in which we need some points to reach our objective: qualifying for the Champions League”, said the coach, whose team is in third place in Sarie A.

Thanks to the saving goal coming from the feet of their reserves, Juventus will seek their 15th Coppa Italia against the winner of the second semi-final, between Atalanta and Fiorentina, who face each other this Wednesday in Bergamo.

The Florence team won the first leg 1-0 at home.
