Ivan Fedotov explained the transition from CSKA to the NHL club with the desire to realize a dream
Russian Philadelphia Flyers goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov explained why he moved from CSKA Moscow to the National Hockey League (NHL) club. His words are quoted by Match TV.
The player noted that he honestly repaid his debt to his homeland. “And we came to the general conclusion that I have the opportunity to realize my dream, which I have always strived for. I hope for understanding from others,” the Russian explained.
On April 23, Philadelphia signed a new two-year contract with Fedotov. According to it, a Russian goalkeeper will earn an average of $3.25 million per season. The player transferred to Philadelphia on March 29. Previously, he terminated his contract with CSKA Moscow by mutual consent.
In the summer of 2022, Fedotov’s attempt to move to Philadelphia failed. The Russian was supposed to go to the United States, but he was detained on suspicion of evading military service. After this, the athlete served a year in the Navy and resumed his career at CSKA.
