The lawyer of Bugaev, who is in jail, said that he is ready to fight
Ekaterina Maklichenko, the lawyer of former Russian national team football player Alexei Bugaev, spoke about the condition of the ex-player, who is in a pre-trial detention center in Krasnodar. Her words are quoted by Match TV.
According to her, no one feels good in places of detention. “However, he is holding on and is ready for an active fight. I am ready to prove that he is not guilty of what he is accused of,” the lawyer said.
Maklichenko said that on Tuesday, April 23, a hearing was held on Bugaev’s case. “We listened to the state accusation, then operational police officers were called. Three of them came, they all gave evidence. The defense also had the opportunity to ask questions,” the lawyer noted.
On November 3 last year, a criminal case was opened against Bugaev under the article on preparation for drug trafficking. The detention of the ex-player became known on November 1. On the night of October 29, police stopped him and found a package with 500 grams of mephedrone in his sweatshirt pocket.
