The Albizuri team qualifies for the “Harri Herri” final by beating Etxauri in the semifinals
The harrijasotzailes of Albizuri have achieved the first of the two tickets for the grand final of the second edition of “Harri Herri” after beating Etxauri’s team in the first semi-final played at the Usorabi fronton in Asteasu. The team led by Luis Mari Telleria has made more lifts and, therefore, accumulated more time in the dispute with the four carved stones, and that has been decisive in the final duel with the rough stone.
The Albizuri team was made up of Gari Garmendia, Beñat Telleria, Iraitz Arruti and Inhar Urruzuno, while the Etxauri team included Julen Díaz, Imanol Royo, Xiker Larrea and Andoni Iruretagoyena (Izeta VI).
In the first round, the duels with the four carved stones: a rectangular one of 200 kilos and three minutes of time, a cubic one of 125 kilos in two minutes, a cylinder also of 125 kilos and also in 2 minutes and the 100 kilo ball, for which they have had a time of one minute. Each lift has been awarded with a different time in each of them.
In the duel with rectangular 200 kilos Gari Garmendia, from Albizuri, and Julen Díaz, from Etxauri, have faced each other. Each lift has been awarded 10 seconds. Garmendia has made 4 lifts (40 seconds prize) compared to Julen Díaz’s 5 (50 seconds).
With the cubic of 125 kilos (5 seconds per lift) Beñat Telleria (Albizuri) and Imanol Royo (Etxauri) have been measured. The victory once again went to Etxauri’s team with 13 lifts (65 seconds prize) compared to 12 (60 seconds).
In the turn of the 125 kilo cylindrical and three seconds after the rally things have begun to change in favor of Albizuri’s team. Iraitz Arruti have clearly beaten Xiker Larrea with 15 wins out of 8. The same has happened with the 100 kilo ball; In one minute of time, Inhar Urruzuno has surpassed Andoni Iruretagoyena by a landslide (14 to 13).
In this way, and adding the minimum minute of time that both teams have to face the rough stone, Albizuri’s team has accumulated a time of 4:07 and Etxauri’s 9 seconds less, 3:58.
The rough or irregular stone
In the decisive round, Luis Mari Telleria has chosen Garmendia and his son Beñat as representatives of Albizuri, while Joseba Ostolaza has chosen Imanol Royo and Andoni Iruretagoyena in the case of Etxauri.
The Albizuri duo has won with relative ease with 13 lifts compared to the 9 carried out by their rivals. Thanks to this result, the Telleria team will be in the grand final of the second edition of “Harri Herri”.
