Two-time Olympic champion and State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Fetisov told how he would behave under the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach. His words are quoted by Sport Express.
“I would slam him to the board, as is customary among hockey players,” Fetisov joked. He called the IOC representatives morons and said that their diplomatic actions had failed.
On April 2, Bach spoke about the creation of a special commission that monitors the statements of Russian athletes in the media and on the Internet. It was clarified that Ukraine is also involved in this work.
Russians and Belarusians will be able to take part in the 2024 Olympics as individual neutral athletes by decision of the International Olympic Committee. However, athletes who support a special operation in Ukraine, as well as those who have connections with the armed forces or security agencies of Russia and Belarus, will miss the tournament. In addition, there will be no representatives of the two countries’ team sports in Paris.
