Godina accused Lokomotiv volleyball players of demonstrating same-sex relationships
The 2006 world champion and 2000 Olympic silver medalist Elena Godina accused the Kaliningrad Lokomotiv volleyball players of demonstrating same-sex relationships. Her words are quoted on the Dynamo Moscow website.
The ex-athlete drew attention to the fact that Turkish volleyball player Ebrar Karakurt kissed teammate Yulia Brovkina on the cheek and also picked her up. She also showed photos in which the Turkish woman was made up as the Joker character, and the Russian woman was made up as Harley Quinn.
Godina said that the behavior of the Lokomotiv volleyball players insults the culture and history of Russia. “To our shame, the broadcasts show monstrous gestures, same-sex kisses on the lips and other abominations,” she emphasized.
On April 14, Lokomotiv defeated Dynamo in the semi-final playoff series of the Russian Championship with a score of 3-1. The team reached the final of the tournament, winning the series – 3-2.
