Roma defender suffers sudden illness on the field, and clash with Udinese is suspended

This Sunday (14), Roma visited Udinese for the Italian Championship. The match was tied at 1-1 when Ivorian defender Evan Ndicka, 24, suffered a sudden illness, which forced the suspension of the match.

In the 27th minute of the second half, the defender complained of chest pain and fell to the pitch. Ndicka was quickly treated and replaced on a stretcher. After going to the locker room to check on the athlete, coach Daniele De Rossi returned to the field, spoke with the team captains and it was decided to suspend the duel.

According to Roma’s official X (former twitter), Ndicka is conscious and on his way to the hospital for further tests.

“Following an illness suffered on the field by Evan Ndicka, #UdineseRoma was suspended. The player is conscious and was transported to the hospital for tests. Come on Evan, we are all with you!”, says the publication.

Before the incident with the defender, Roma were drawing with Udinese. Roberto Pereyra scored for the home team, while Lukaku equalized for De Rossi’s team.
