Despite having only obtained one point, Milan (2nd) can celebrate: after losing 2-0 and later 3-1 at modest Sassuolo (19th), the Rossoneri managed to snatch a 3-1 draw. 3, this Sunday for the 32nd round of Series A.

Milan had won five consecutive games in the Italian Championship, but this time everything was complicated from the start: with goalkeeper Mike Maignan out of the squad as a “precautionary” and with starters Olivier Giroud and Christian Pulisic on the bench, Sassuolo took advantage to make it 2-0 after just ten minutes of play, with goals from Andrea Pinamonti (4′) and Frenchman Armand Laurienté.
Portuguese Rafael Leão reduced the score with a great individual play in the 20th minute, but Sassuolo increased in the 53rd thanks to Laurienté, who five minutes later wasted a great opportunity to score a hat-trick and secure the victory. He couldn’t do it and Milan woke up, revived by the arrivals of Giroud and Pulisic.
Serbian Luka Jovic scored in the 59th minute and the 3-3 equalizer came in the 84th minute thanks to Swiss Noah Okafor.
Milan are now 13 points behind leaders Inter Milan, who could extend their advantage to 16 points if they win in the last match this Sunday, against Cagliari.
If they achieve this, a draw on April 22nd in the Milan classic would be enough to mathematically reach the 20th ‘Scudetto’ in their history.
