Defeat of Alavés against a Granada that had gone eleven games without winning (2-0)

Alavés were defeated by Granada (2-0) in the match corresponding to the 31st day of LaLiga EA Sports which was played at the Los Cármenes stadium. Therefore, the slimefoxes they missed a good opportunity to extend their advantage over the relegation places.
The game became uphill for the babazorro team very soon. In the 7th minute, a shot by Lucas Boyé hit the post, and on the rebound Gorosabel cut a rival shot with his hand inside the area. The referee did not hesitate and pointed penalty in favor of Granada. Uzuni was in charge of taking the maximum penalty and managed to beat goalkeeper Sivera (1-0).
After conceding the goal, Alavés went on the attack, but were not able to create clear scoring chances. The home team was solid in defense and also extended its advantage before half-time: Lucas Boyé made the score 2-0 after finishing off a cross from Sergio Ruiz and putting the ball back into the goal defended by Sivera.
Before reaching the break, the locals were able to open a gap, but Boyé’s shot went just wide.
After the restart, Alavés took over possession, although the team led by Luis García Plaza was unable to generate clear scoring chances. The Albiazules were able to close the gap in the 61st minute, but goalkeeper Batalla avoided the goal with two good interventions.
In the final stretch, the Vitoria-Gasteiz team was not able to put pressure on the rival with a goal that gave them hope in the last minutes and in the end Granada took the three points (2-0).
