Conmebol released this Friday the team of the week for the 2024 South American Championship, formed in 3-4-3. Among the 11 players, five are from Brazilian clubs. They are: Romero, from Corinthians, Deyverson, from Cuiabá, Lucero, from Fortaleza, Fernandinho, from Athletico-PR, and José Ivaldo, from Cruzeiro.
The Timão striker was fundamental in the game against Nacional-PAR, scoring two goals and an assist in the 4-0 victory. Dourado’s center forward was responsible for scoring both in the 2-0 victory against Metropolitanos-VEN , as well as Argentine Lucero, this time in the 5-0 victory against Nacional Potosí. Midfielder Fernandinho scored a goal and provided two assists in the chocolate (6-0) victory over Deportivo Rayo Zuliano. Finally, despite the 3-3 draw against Alianza Petrolera, José Ivaldo scored the second for the Minas Gerais team.

In addition to these, the team also has goalkeeper Pedro Galindo, from Real Tomayapo-BOL, Juan Elordi, defender from Delfín-EQU, Aaron Anselmino, defender from Boca Juniors, Emerson Batalla, right winger from Alianza Petrolera-COL, Jhon Vásquez, midfielder from Independiente Medellín-COL, and left winger Urretaviscaya, from Racing-URU.
The third round of the South American Championship starts on the 22nd (Tuesday), with Cruzeiro facing Unión La Calera-CHI, away from home, Cuiabá taking on Deportivo Gacilaso-PER, in Peru, and Corinthians visiting the Argentinos Juniors-ARG.
On Wednesday, Athletico-PR travels to Uruguay to face Danúbio-URU, while Fortaleza hosts Boca Juniors-ARG, this time on Thursday.
