General Secretary of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Maxim Mitrofanov spoke about the new date of the canceled friendly match with Paraguay. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
According to him, the meeting will take place no earlier than 2025, since the opponent has the rest of this year planned. “We have a valid contract. Due to the tragic events, it was not right to play the match. Now the Paraguayan Football Federation and I are looking for a date in the international calendar,” Mitrofanov said.
The cancellation of the friendly match between Russia and Paraguay became known on March 23. This decision was made in connection with the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall near Moscow, which occurred the day before. The meeting was scheduled for March 25.
On March 21, the Russian national team played a friendly match with Serbia in Moscow. The game ended with a score of 4:0 in favor of the hosts.
