Anti-terrorism security measures will be strengthened at Champions League matches in Madrid and London
The Spanish Ministry of the Interior will strengthen anti-terrorism security measures at two matches of the 1/4 finals of the Champions League (CL) in Madrid. This was reported by Mundo Deportivo.
According to the source, a rapid deployment plan has been developed, within which two thousand members of the National Police and Civil Guard will be mobilized. London police also responded to the threats and assured that they have a robust security plan in place for the Champions League game.
Earlier on April 9 it was reported that ISIS (IS, Islamic State, terrorist organization banned in Russia) allegedly threatened to carry out terrorist attacks at the quarterfinal matches of the Champions League. An image appeared online showing an armed man and the names of the stadiums where the games will be held, accompanied by the caption “kill them all.”
Four matches will be held as part of the Champions League on April 9 and 10. They will be played by Arsenal and Bayern (in London), Real Madrid and Manchester City, Atlético and Borussia (both in Madrid), PSG and Barcelona (in Paris).
