Mostovoy: in Europe, unlike Russia, people do not strive to live in the capital
Former Russian national team footballer Alexander Mostovoy compared life in Russia and in Europe. His words are quoted by Sport24.
Mostovoy called the main difference the fact that Europeans do not want to live in the capital. “We even joke that Moscow is a different state. If you live in a small European town, then you have everything you need, but you go to the capital only as a tourist,” he said.
According to him, in Europe people understand that they have everything they need where they were born, so they do not move to large cities. “In Spain, it doesn’t matter whether you live in Madrid or Bilbao – you don’t want to leave, you’re always satisfied and happy,” the ex-footballer added.
From 1992 to 2005, Mostovoy played for a number of European clubs: Portuguese Benfica, French Caen and Strasbourg, Spanish Celta and Alaves.
