Eibar loses in Tenerife and wastes Leganés’ puncture
Euskaraz irakurri: Eibarrek galdu egin du Tenerifen (2-1)
He Eibar has lost 1-2 to him Tenerife and, therefore, has missed the opportunity to cut two points from Leganés, leader of the Hypermotion League, which hours before had tied 0-0 with Huesca.
Asier Garitano’s team came out better on the field, and managed to take the lead in the 10th minute with a great goal by Roberto Lópezwho put the ball into the corner of Luca Zidane’s goal, culminating a great collective play by the chicharreros.
The armored squad went from less to more in the first half, and put pressure on Tenerife, who defended their advantage by closing in on their own half and with the intention of seeking the second on the counterattack. The best and clearest chances have been shots by Álvaro Tejero and José Corpas from inside the area, but the balls have gone wide.
However, in the 42nd minute, Corpas did not forgive and scored the tying goal after finishing off a Matheus cross with his right leg and without dropping the ball.
After the break, Tenerife and Eibar have sought the goal with more ambition and Mario Soriano (m. 55) he was about to score with a hard shot from the edge of the area, but the local goalkeeper managed to reject the ball with some difficulty.
Next, Stoichkov, with a hard shot, tested Soriano, who responded with a notable intervention. The passing of the minutes has emboldened the Eibar team, but they have had very little effectiveness in the final shot.
In the 87th minute, Tenerife took advantage of a mistake by Mathews, Teto got hold of the ball and, from the baseline, sent it to Angelwho, from the goal line, finished at will and put his team ahead again.
With this defeat, Eibar gives second place to Espanyolwho this afternoon won their match against Albacete.
