Leverkusen beats Union Berlin and takes the Alemão title

This Saturday, in the 28th round of the German Championship, Bayer Leverkusen visited Union Berlin at the An der Alten Försterei Stadium and won 1-0. The goal was scored by Florian Wirtz.

Thus, the team led by coach Xabi Alonso achieved its ninth consecutive victory in the competition and won the German Championship title, as vice-leader Bayern Munich was defeated in the round and was left with the same 60 points. With just five more games left until the end of the Bundesliga (18 points up for grabs), the gap between the two now stands at 16 points. On the other hand, Union Berlin was stuck in 12th place, with 29 added.

The winning goal came in first-half stoppage time, after a penalty taken by Florian Wirtz. The athlete hit the left side of the goal, in an indefensible way for goalkeeper Ronnow.
