Obstetrician-gynecologist of the South Ural State Medical University clinic of the Ministry of Health of Russia Ekaterina Arenst named the best exercises during pregnancy. Her words are quoted by the First Regional News Agency.

The doctor recommended walking, swimming, water aerobics, and breathing exercises. Yoga, Pilates, and cardio training are suitable for the second trimester. However, extreme sports and anything associated with the risk of falling and injury are prohibited.

Arenst said exercise will help prepare the body for childbirth, reduce pain, improve metabolism, avoid weight gain, strengthen the immune system and relieve anxiety. She emphasized that exercise should be regular and moderate, at least twice a week, for 20-30 minutes.

On March 13, expert trainer Svetlana Drogina named the best exercise for working the muscles of the whole body. She recommended doing a twisted plank.
