Peru will play a friendly against Paraguay in June, before the Copa América

O Peru will receive the Paraguay in a friendly match on June 7th, before his participation in the America Cup this year in the United States, the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) reported this Friday.

“LaBicolor (Peru) will face Albirroja (Paraguay) on June 7th, in Lima”, indicated the FPF on its account on the social network X.

“Paraguay is one of the opponents that was within the technical committee’s sporting planning, it will be our farewell game in Peru”, said the president of the FPF, Agustín Lozano.

This will be the third friendly match for the team led by Uruguayan Jorge Fossati and will serve as preparation for the Copa América, which will be played from June 20th to July 14th in the United States. Peru is in Group A, along with current world champions Argentina, Chile and Canada, while Paraguay will compete in Group D against Brazil, Colombia and Costa Rica.

The Peruvian team defeated Nicaragua 2-1 and the Dominican Republic 4-1 in friendlies in Lima.

After the Copa América, the Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup will resume in September. This month, Peru hosts Colombia and visits Ecuador.

Peru is in last place in the South American qualifiers with two points from six rounds. Paraguay is in 7th place with five points.
