FLGR President Elena Vyalbe said she will not shake hands with IOC head Thomas Bach
The head of the Russian Ski Federation (FLGR), Elena Vyalbe, criticized the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach. Her words are quoted by Match TV.
Vyalbe called the head of the IOC scum and said that she does not respect him as an Olympic fencing champion. “If I ever see Bach, I will never shake his hand,” she emphasized.
In September 2023, Vyalbe made a statement about the participation of Russian athletes in the Olympic Games in a neutral status. Vyalbe considered that without the flag and anthem, the Russians should abandon the competition.
The IOC allowed Russians and Belarusians to participate in the Olympics in Paris. They will be able to take part in the tournament as individual neutral athletes. At the same time, athletes who support a special operation in Ukraine, or who have connections with the armed forces or security agencies of Russia and Belarus will not be allowed to participate in the Games. In addition, representatives of team sports will miss the tournament.
