Juventus beat Cagliari and ended the first round fighting for a place in the Champions League

A Juventus received Cagliari this Tuesday, in a game valid for the 19th round of the Italian Championship. With the strength of their fans, the Turin team won the match 2-0 and ended the first round of the competition fighting for a place in the Champions League.

The scoreboard was opened 40 minutes into the first stage, with an unusual goal. Bernadeschi took the risk from outside the area, but halfway through, Moise Kean dodged with his shoulder and shook Cragno’s nets.

At the end of the second half, at 38 minutes, it was Bernadeschi’s turn to save his own and seal the victory. The attacker received the ball on the left side of the opponent’s area and hit it crosswise to the back of the goal.

With the victory, Juventus sleeps in fifth place, hoping for a stumble by Roma to remain in the classification zone for the Europa League. With 34 points, Velha Senhora is just four points behind fourth-placed Atalanta, the first team in the Champions League qualifying zone.

Cagliari, in turn, sinks even further into the relegation zone, taking 19th place in the table.

Also in this round, Atalanta drew 0-0 with Genoa, a crucial score for both Juventus and Cagliari, as Genoa is also fighting against the takedown.

Earlier, Udinese and Salernitana would face off, but the visiting team reported an outbreak of covid-19, resulting in the match being postponed.
